Water is more than the life-giving fluid that we all need to survive -- in our language we use water terms as a metaphor for wealth. For example, we go into a bank (the stretch of rising land at the edge of a body of water) and asks the banker to float us a loan. We tell the banker that our cash flow is low and our other assets are frozen. The banker checks our deposit record and asks if we have any liquid assets for collateral. But we respond that our company isn't solvent at the moment because our company took a bath during the last market dip. We may see that there is a drain on our capital but thank goodness we do have a hidden slush fund. We cannot survive in this world without water we cannot live well without money.
Consider adding a fish tank or fountain
Fish tanks and fountains are the classic Feng Shui cures for adding wealth energy to office. A gentle, gurgling fountain not only helps lower your blood pressure but the flowing water represents the flow of that money. Fish tanks are also an effective way to stir up the energy in the office. Fish are often use as a symbol in Feng Shui to attract money, as the Chinese word for fish and the word for abundance are homonyms. Choose an odd number of fish (odd numbers are considered more powerful than even numbers) and consider goldfish (the color gold represents large sums of money).
If the thought of maintaining a fountain or fish tank doesn't fit in the day planner (or the environment) consider decorating pictures of moving water. Seascapes, waterfalls, rushing rivers are all positive symbols of money flow. And position the picture so the water flows into the office, not out the door. Avoid pictures of frozen water, dry riverbeds or mossy ponds. These represent stagnant water and no money movement.
The remarkable thing about Feng Shui is that even a small change can have big results. Sometimes just breaking the daily routine for a few minutes allows us to see an opportunity. Sometimes removing one thing creates a vacuum for money and opportunity to rush in. And sometimes adding just one thing stimulates the energy and the flow bringing you success and wealth.
Notice this picture of rushing water. This represents life and flow of resources (which means money).
Make sure the picture is positioned so the water seems to flow into the office. If the water flows out the door so does your money.
There are lots of Feng Shui symbols that can be placed in the home office to bring good financial energy. This little Buddha is considered the Money Buddha because over his head he holds the Sycee, a depiction of the gold ingot used in China as currency up until the 20th century. The Money Buddha could be placed on the desk or on a table near the door to attract wealth.
There are other symbols too. The three-legged money frog, also called the Chan Chu, sits on a pile of coins and has a coin in his mouth. He is placed facing the door like a little doorman, and he brings good fortune and increased prosperity.
The beckoning cat, Maneki Neko, waves his arm and calls money. He is placed where he can be seen by a person entering the office. Most commonly the cat is also a bank and he needs to be fed regularly with coins to stimulate the energy.
The Buddha shown above is actually just two inches high and made from resin in the traditional cinnabar color.
